Obituary

Sarasota, FL: William D. Murphy, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice. He leaves 2 daughters Sheilagh Murphy of Fl and Audrey-Jane Travers of Sandwich MA; a son- Terence Murphy of FL; a step-daughter Kathleen Orasy of North Grafton, MA; 7 grandchildren Rachael, Nicole, Ashley, Dan Jr., Dylan, Terry Jr., and Jamie, 7 great-grandchildren Kayleigh, Lexi, Teagan, Layla, Payten, Jack and Lily; and a brother Frank "Uncle Red" Murphy of CA. He was predeceased by his wife Edith (Mosher)Murphy and a son Dale Murphy.

William was born in Worcester, son of the late William and Audrey (Downer) Murphy. He graduated from North High School and earned his Associates Degree in Business from Becker College. He worked for many years as a construction superintendent for Henley-Lundgren Highway Paving Company. He enjoyed going to the beach, dining out, and spending time with family and friends. He was also an avid reader.

Following cremation, burial and a graveside service will be held at a later date in St. John's Cemetery Worcester, MA. There are no calling hours.
