Obituary

Charlton- William (Bill) Woods, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton. He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years Marilyn (Mard) Woods of Charlton; four sons- Robert and his wife Molly of Vista, CA; Charles and Julie of Vancouver, WA; David of Charlton, MA; Peter and his wife Lynn of Santa Clara, CA; one daughter Candice of Weymouth, MA; a sister Olive Vane; a brother Ernest Woods; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by his brother Cecil Woods and his daughter-in-law, Carol Woods, wife of David.

Bill was born in Hull, England, son of William and Lily (Rutherford) Woods. He graduated magna cum laude from Clark University and was the President and CEO of Mason Research Institute, a biomedical research company. He was a golf enthusiast, a skilled equestrian, a dog lover, enjoyed sailing, skiing, traveling, carpentry, and landscaping his yard. He was also a veteran of the British Army, where he was part of the Veterinarian Corp stationed in Germany following WWII, where he helped rehabilitate war horses.
