Obituary

WORCESTER--Vieno M. (Laakso) Hermans, 84, formerly of Worcester died Friday, June 11, 2004 at the Highlands Nursing Home in Fitchburg. She leaves a daughter, Virginia D. Brackett of Gardner; a step-daughter, Patricia Jay of E. Hartford, CT; a grandson Andrew Brackett of Moultonboro, NH; a grandaughter, Kim Brackett of Gardner; a step-grandaughter Joy Sullivan, a step-great grandson Erik Sullivan, and a step-great grandaughter, Leah Abare, all of E. Hartford, CT. Her husband, Erik Hermans died in 1994. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Waino and Hilja (Sorvari) Laakso.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15th at 1 p.m. in the Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA. A calling hour will be held 1 hour before from 12-1. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Assoc., 720 Harrison Ave. Boston, MA 02118.
