Obituary

Worcester—Varti (Davidian) Merzigian, 83, of 9 Rosemont Rd., died Monday, May 23, 2005, at UMass Memorial Healthcare. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Jacob "Jake" Merzigian; a son, Jake Merzigian and his wife, Donna, of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Lisa M. Balch and her husband, James, of Litchfield, NH; 3 grandchildren, Jake, Greg, and Juliana Merzigian of Raleigh; a brother, David Davidian; and a sister Ojen Fantazian; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Lawrence, daughter of Bagdasar and Maritza (Oozoonian) Davidian. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and a member of Armenian Church of Our Saviour.

Funeral services will be held from the Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Friday, May 27, with a service at 11 a.m. in Armenian Church of Our Saviour. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester MA 01609.
