Obituary

Worcester: Sylvester Mutua Kioko, 77, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Bernadette (Munanie) Kioko; his children- Mary Mumbua, James Ndambo, Elizabeth Koki, and John Kioko; 10 grandchildren; siblings Ruth Wanza, Catherine Wayua, Benjamin Mwanzia, Charles Kitheka, Jenipher Koki, and Alice Nzilani; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Anastasia Katunge, Seth Nzembi Mueni, and Wellington Muthwii.

Sylvester was born in Machakos, Kenya, son of the late Eluid Mwania Kioko and Ann Musiku Kioko. He came to the United States and attended Clark University. He worked as a computer operator in the computer industry for many years. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and CMA.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 5-6 p.m. in St. Andrews Church 5 Spaulding St. Worcester, MA 01603. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be at a later date in Kenya. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605 is assisting the family with arrangements.
