Obituary

West Boylston - Shirley L. (Harper) Peterson, 87, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Autumn Village. Her husband of 57 years, Frederick O. Peterson, died in 2005. She leaves two sons, Gary F. Peterson and his wife Ann Marie and Bruce R. Peterson and his wife Carol - all of West Boylston; one sister, Lois A. Spafford of Auburn; and four grandchildren, Kristen, Amy, Stephanie, and Diane. A brother, Roscoe J. Harper, Jr., predeceased her. Shirley was born in Worcester, daughter of Roscoe J. and Lillian (Grusell) Harper. She was a graduate of the Commerce High School Class of 1941 and New England Institute Class of 1942. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, holding the rank of Yeoman First Class. Shirley was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 19, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester.
