Obituary

Worcester - Roy B. Johnson, 87, formerly of Pleasant Valley Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Autumn Village. His beloved wife of 53 years, Alice M. (Nygren) Johnson, died on Dec. 20, 2001. Roy is survived by his children, Barbara M. Lindquist and her husband, Lawrence, of Worcester and Donald R. Johnson and his wife, Jane, of Webster. He leaves three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was the son of Eric and Hilda (Benson) Johnson of Boras, Sweden. Roy was born in Worcester and raised in Boras, Sweden. At the age of 14, he came back to Worcester and graduated from Boys Trade High School and served in Navy during WWII for 4 years. Roy worked at Norton Company for 37 years in Diamond Products, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Greendale People's Church and the Morning Star Lodge A.F. & A.M.

The Johnson family would like to thank the entire staff at Autumn Village for their outstanding care and compassion.
