Roger A. Palmgren, 91, formerly of 13 Ontario Street, died Thursday, May 1, at Autumn Village.

His wife of 58 years, Ruth H. (Young) Palmgren, died in 1999. He leaves two sisters, Dorothy A. Palmgren and Mae I. Palmgren and a brother, Alden C. Palmgren; all of Worcester; nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Grace Hunt and Elizabeth Neville and a brother, Russell W. Palmgren predeceased him.

Mr. Palmgren was born in Worcester, son of Andrew S. and Alinda (Johnson) Palmgren. He graduated from North High School and Northeastern University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

He worked for Norton Company for 42 years as Service Manager in the Machine Tool Division and stayed with the successor company, Warner & Swasey, for two years before retiring. Mr. Palmgren was a member of the Norton 25-year Club; life member of the Athelstan Masonic Lodge; the Greendale Retired Men's Club, where he served as past Treasurer, President, and committee member; and Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served as Treasurer from 1980-1990 and Business Manager from 1972-1980.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, at Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Nordgren Memorial Chapel (NordgrenMemorialChapel.com) is directing arrangements.
