Obituary

Shrewsbury: Roger E. Deschenes, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. He leaves his wife of 27 years, Linda (Bier) Deschenes; 3 stepchildren -Jeffrey Grainger (Bridget), Andrew Grainger, and Tracy Weeks (Tom); grandchildren Daulton Grainger and Raiden Weeks; a brother Raymond Deschenes; a sister Louise Auclair and her husband Robert; a cousin Madeleine Deschenes; and several nieces and nephews- Jared Auclair (Melissa), Heather Tancreti (Doug) and Tyler Auclair (Kirby). He also leaves grandnieces and grandnephews- Andrew, Ryan, and Joshua Tancreti, Jackson and Madison Auclair, and Kinsley Auclair.

Roger was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, son of the late Roger O. and Rachel (Brodeur) Deschenes. He earned his Master's Degree from Temple University in PA and worked as a microbiologist for many years in the BioPharma Industry and most recently at Merck. He enjoyed international travel, hiking, taking long nature walks and puttering around his yard.

According to Roger's wishes, all services are private. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
