Robert J.
Tenney
February 13, 1958 – April 10, 2026
Robert James Tenney, 68, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born February 13, 1958, in Westerly, Rhode Island, Robert carried with him the strength and character that would define his life.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and family man. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his Wife and Best Friend, Donna Tenney, with whom he shared a life grounded in love, loyalty, and devotion.
Robert briefly served in the United States Navy. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, working as a truck driver and a skilled tiler. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family.
He is survived by his children: Elizabeth Verone, 45, of Texarkana, Texas; Leah Langlois, 43, of Warren, Massachusetts; Russell Tenney, 43, of Sebring, Florida; Rebecca Small, 41, of Paris, Tennessee; Mindi Parrish, 40, of Hernando, Florida; and Mellisa Marshall, 33, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; his loving sisters, Alice Daigle and Beatrice Cooper; as well as 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, along with numerous other family members and friends who will cherish his memory. His love for his family was unwavering, and his legacy lives on through each of them.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Pauline Spadea (Tenney) and Russell Tenney; his stepmother, Freda Tenney; his son, Robert Tenney Jr.; and his daughter, Kasie Marshall.
Robert will be remembered for his strength, his resilience, and his unmistakable stubbornness—a trait that defined him in both challenging and meaningful ways. He lived life on his own terms, often standing firm in his beliefs, yet that same stubborn spirit was rooted in a deep sense of independence and determination. Those who knew him understood that beneath it all was a man who loved deeply and remained fiercely committed to his family.
He valued family above all else, and even in life’s most difficult moments, his love remained constant.
In honoring Robert’s wishes, there will be no formal services or viewing. He preferred a simple direct cremation. His family may choose to hold a private celebration of life at a later time.
