Obituary

Worcester: Richard H. Gustafson, 97, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 in Knollwood Nursing Center. He leaves a son Philip Gustafson and his wife Susan of Oxford; a daughter Anne Eldridge of Worcester; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Bertha I. (Annala) Gustafson, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Richard was born in Worcester, son of the late Gunnar and Anna (Chellberg) Gustafson. He graduated from Worcester Trade High School and proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester where he taught Sunday School for many years. He also sang in Trinity's Mendelssohn Choir. He enjoyed candlepin bowling.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 10-11 am in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 73 Lancaster St. Worcester, MA 01609.
