Obituary

Worcester: Richard A. "Chet" Fortier, 43, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, May 14, 2016. He leaves his wife Tina (Cates) Fortier; 7 children- Billy Cates, Bruce Cates, Laura Cates, Miranda Fortier, Zachary Fortier, Kody Picard, and Jacob Fortier; 4 grandchildren- Alexis, Jameson, Mason, and Abel; 6 brothers- Patrick Fortier, James Fortier, Bruce Hatstat, Mike Hatstat, Bob Hatstat, Steve Hatstat; and 2 nephews- Eric Cates and Anthony Fortier Hanley.

Chet was born in Worcester, son of the late Roy and Patricia (Anderson) Fortier. He graduated from Burncoat Sr. High School and worked for many years doing maintenance for the Worcester Housing Authority. He enjoyed nature and being with his family - but most of all he enjoyed playing the guitar and jamming with his sons and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
