Obituary

Worcester, MA -R. Henry "Hank" Benson, 96, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023 in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves a daughter, Karen Stake,; a son Dana Benson; 2 grandchildren, Jillian and Nichole Benson; a brother-in -law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Phyllis Gaucher of West Boylston; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years- Jeannine C. (Gaucher) Benson, a son, Mark Henry Robert Benson and 3 brothers- Gus, Lenny, and Stanley Benson.

Hank was born in Worcester, son of the late Otto and Hilma (Gustafson) Benson. He graduated from Commerce High School and the University of Toronto, and proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for many years as a research engineer for the former Norton Company. He enjoyed swimming, skiing, and traveling.

According to Hank's wishes, there are no services at this time. A celebration of life may be held at a later date. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hank's name may be made to the VNA Hospice.
