SUTTON - Peter Joseph Lund, of Sutton, Massachusetts, joined his Savior, Jesus, on Wednesday, July 8, while surrounded by his loving siblings, Bonnie and David. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, on July 11, 1964, Peter celebrated his 62nd birthday in heaven, reunited with those who had gone before him.

Peter was the son of Andrew J. Lund Jr. and the late Margaret Lund Tagliente. He is survived by his father, Andrew J. Lund Jr. of Putnam, CT; his sister, Bonnie Lund Johnson of Boylston; his brother, David A. Lund of Northbridge; and his nieces and nephews: Nicole Adamson, Bryan Johnson, Melissa Maci and Maxwell, Alexander, and Charlotte Lund. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Lund Tagliente (2022) and step-dad, Frank Tagliente (2014); his brothers William (1983); and Christopher (1987) Lund; all of Northbridge.

Peter graduated from Northbridge High School in 1983 and soon began a career with either Delta Beckwith or F.S. Payne Elevator, joining his father and brother in the trade. He became an exceptionally skilled elevator mechanic, known for his vast knowledge, strong work ethic, and ability to solve even the most challenging problems. Peter dedicated many years to the elevator industry and continued working until his retirement a few years ago. We would like to thank Local 4 for their consistent moral support throughout the majority of Pete’s life.

Following high school, Peter proudly served in the Army National Guard. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) as an Army diesel mechanic.

Peter married Lisa Dickinson in 1992 (separated in 2007). They moved to Millbury, then Sutton, where he has resided for more than two decades.

Peter had a passion for snowmobiles and motorcycles. He enjoyed the freedom and camaraderie that came with riding. One of the experiences he treasured most was participating in the Ride to Remember following the events of September 11, joining thousands of fellow riders in honor of those who lost their lives in that horrible attack on America.

He was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed baseball and football. He loved his cats including Jerry and Puffins.

Among Peter’s favorite places was Manchaug Lake, where he spent many enjoyable days. He also fondly remembered the good times shared with friends from the annual Horseshoe banquet.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center ICU 6th floor for their care and compassion during Peter’s final days and the many other visits to this floor and hospital throughout the last 7 years.

Though deeply missed, Peter leaves behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance and love. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace with Jesus.

We invite you to join Bonnie and David and their families at the Celebration of Peter's life to be held at the First Congregational Church of Sutton 307 Boston Road, Sutton, MA. on Saturday, August 29th at 10 a.m. with a reception following at the Church.  Please note that the entrance to the church is on the Sutton Common.
