Obituary

Worcester—Oliver B. Joyce, 83, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at UMass Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife of almost 60 years, Charlotte A. (Osborn) Joyce and many nieces & nephews. Three brothers, Glover C., Arthur J., and Elmer L. predeceased him. He was born in Monroe, CT, son of John and Mary R. (Glover) Joyce. He was a WWII Army Veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Adams Square Baptist Church for 69 years where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Sons & Daughters of Liberty. Oliver worked for Reed & Prince, California Plant Protection and then as a bagger for Stop & Shop during his retirement.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 21, 11:00 a.m. at Adams Square Baptist Church, 266 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. For directions and on-line condolences, please click below.
