Obituary

Worcester: Obdulia "Yuya" Ruiz, 78, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2023 in St. Francis Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She leaves Manuel Valladares, her companion of over 25 years; children Enrique Sanchez, Rosa, Luz, Hector, Franklin,, Wanda, Milagro, Maria, Lourdes, Edwin, Norma, and Carmen; siblings Ladislao, Rosa, Jesus, and Lencho; daughter-in-law and care giver Iris Sanchez; 33 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Obdulia was born in Maricao, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Pedro Ruiz and Ramona Rosado. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Worcester, Family Together in Leicester, and Sarah Care of Worcester. She dedicated her life to raising her family. She will be missed.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for their compassionate care of Obdulia during her stay there.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605.
