Obituary

Charlton: Mary G. "Geri" (Hanley) Brandt, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023 in the Overlook Masonic Health Center. She leaves her husband of 65 years Richard A. Brandt; a son Jeffrey Brandt and his wife Lauren of Falmouth; a daughter Wendy Brandt and her husband Willem of Boston; and a sister Joan Hanley of Worcester. She was predeceased by her in-laws, Warren and Kathleen Brandt and a brother-in-law, George Campbell.

Geri, as she was affectionately known, was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Katherine Hanley. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and worked various jobs in the area including her daughter's boutique. She spent many summers on Cape Cod and was a snowbird in South Palm Beach Florida in her later years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all over Europe, taking cruises, visiting her son's lake house in Dudley, reading the newspaper, shopping at thrift shops, and listening to music. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her as she was the eternal optimist, constant cheerleader and loyal friend.

According to Geri's wishes, there will be no services. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geri's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (Alzheimer's Association | Donate to Fight Alzheimer's Disease).
