Worcester: Marlo MacDonald-Nagy, 59, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family after a decade-long struggle with Breast Cancer. She leaves her wife and life partner of 19 years, Kathleen Nagy; her step-children Alecia Thomas, and Christopher and Anthony Principe; granddaughter Victoria Thomas; siblings Lori Copan, Wendy Babbit, Doug and Raymond MacDonald; her mother Gladys Copan; two nieces and six nephews; and many loving friends.

Marlo was born in New Waterford, Cape Breton Island, Canada. She worked for many years as a performance artist, musician, actor, and teacher for many places including the Worcester Forum Theater. Over the years she directed shows at Nipmuc, Grafton, and Uxbridge High Schools and served as a youth program coordinator at the North American Indian Center in Boston. A talented stage performer, Marlo is best remembered for playing drums in The Ann Prim Group, The Yazoo Band, and Plastic Warsaw. She was an instrumental figure in the 1970's Boston area punk rock scene who gave voice to many upcoming artists at The Space and Cantones.

Friends and relatives are invited to greet the family on Thursday, May 5, from 4:00-5:30pm and join them in a celebration of Marlo's life from 5:30 - 7:00. Bring an instrument, a poem or a memory to share. Memorial contributions may be made to the UMASS Memorial Hospice P.O.
