Obituary

Worcester- Maria E. Monterrosa, 73, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2020. She is survived by her four children- Jaime Sanchez and his wife Debbie, Ricardo Sanchez and his wife Tasha, Teresita Heredia and her husband David, and Rommel Sanchez and his wife Melissa; six grandchildren- Cassandra, Anthony, Ricardo, Jr., Erika, Christian, and Daniel; one great-grandson Jeremiah; and three sisters- Ana, Cristina, and Gloria. She was predeceased by her sister Graciela and her brother Miguel.

Maria was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, daughter of the late Ciriaco Martinez and Concepcion Monterrosa. After graduating high school, she worked as a tailor for many years. She was an active member of the Assembly of Christian Churches, New Jerusalem in Worcester. She enjoyed going fishing and going out to eat, especially for ice cream. Above all else, Maria loved spending time with her family. Her beloved grandchildren meant the world to her.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 10-11am at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11am.
