Auburn—Marguerite W. (Berglund) Thoren, 81, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Emery F. Thoren, Sr.; 5 sons and 4 daughters-in-law, Emery F. & Wendy Thoren, Jr. of Raymond, Maine; Bernard J. Thoren of Auburn; David R. & Kim Thoren of Port Orchard, WA; Donald L. & Janet Thoren of Charlton; and Bruce T. & Laurie Thoren of Auburn; 2 sisters, Evelyn Frederickson of Holden and Ingrid Ginny Lindquist of Duxbury; 9 grandchildren, Jessica, Roxi, Mary, James, Erika, Stephanie, Julie, Ashley, Keith; and a great-granddaughter, Daphne. A brother, S. George Berglund, Jr. predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Sven G. and Anna E. (Molberg) Berglund, Sr. She graduated from Commerce High School and received a Paralegal from Assumption College. She was co-owner of the former Thoren's Dairy and retired from W.C.I.S. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where she was past secretary of church council. She was past president of the Evening Circle at Pakachoag Chapel and past president of T.O.P.S. She was a member of the Mystic Valley Railway.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 9th from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Organ Fund, 200 Greenwood Street, Worcester, MA 01607.
