Rutland - Margaret D. (Vollo) Riganati, 83, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Catherine (Schneider) and Michael Vollo.

Margaret devoted herself to being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves her loved and treasured family - two sons, John Riganati and Rocco Riganati; two daughters, Catherine and her husband, William Magnusson, (with whom she lived) and Dorothea Riganati; 6 grandchildren, John, Michael, Eddie, Gina, Jillian, and Deana; 5 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Sammy, Lilly, Reese, and Taylor; as well as her beloved dog and protector, Tanner. Margie was a dear and unforgettable friend, a Mother to four, but Mom to many.

She was devoutly faithful to Jesus Christ and walked her life's journey with Him. She never hesitated to share Him with family and friends. She was a Eucharistic Minister, a team leader for the Life in the Spirit seminars with the Diocese of Worcester, which included prison ministry and also a member of St. Patrick's Church in Rutland.

She was gifted with an extraordinary talent for making beautiful handcrafted creations, all of which were given to friends and family with her love.

She was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Brooklyn NY and enjoyed reminiscing about her years growing up in Brooklyn. Margaret worked for Community Healthlink of Worcester and retired in1995.

The family expresses their gratitude to the angels from VNA Care Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 19, from 4-7pm at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. The funeral will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 20, with a 10am Mass at St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
