Obituary

Margaret M. (Schneider) Garabedian, 90, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home in Worcester. Her husband of 46 years, Peter Garabedian, predeceased her in 1993. She leaves two sons, Peter and his wife Patty Garabedian of Worcester and Robert Garabedian of Fresno, California; one daughter, Karen Garabedian of Paxton; two grandchildren, Patrick Garabedian and his wife Cara of Rutland and Michael Garabedian of Melrose; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Chase Garabedian of Rutland; two sisters, Katherine "Kitty" Metzler and Ella Bulka - both of Worcester; and several nieces & nephews .

Margaret was born in North Adams, MA, daughter of Emil and Margaret (Klein) Schneider. She graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga, TN and the former Becker Jr. College, Worcester. She resided in Paxton for 60 years. She worked at Worcester County National Bank and for her family business, Garabedian Plumbing for many years. Margaret was a charter member of the Germania Social Club of Worcester and a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Acton, MA. She enjoyed her family, traveling, gardening, and volunteer work at Fairlawn Hospital.

There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the charity of choice.
