Leora Lorraine Williams, 60, passed away on August 5, 2006 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd Williams of Parker, CO; her siblings Carl Landry (Worcester, MA), Barbara Wilson (Worcester, MA), Richard Landry (Worcester, MA), Dorothy Trottier (Worcester, MA), Judy Daniels (Putnam, CT), and Joan Powlics (Worcester, MA); her children Thomas McKnight (Portland, OR), Dawn McKnight (Thornton, CO), Barbara Poole (Belleville, IL), Timothy McKnight (Denver, CO), and Christopher Williams (Parker, CO); her stepchildren Rick Williams, Brie Loidolt, and Erin Williams of Anchorage, AK; and, 12 grandchildren.
She was born Leora Lorraine Landry on September 27, 1945 in Worcester MA, daughter of Fredrick Landry and Leora Noble. Leora married Thomas McKnight on July 17, 1965 in Worcester; thereafter she and her family enjoyed life in the Air Force, living in Illinois, Japan, Arizona, Alaska, Oklahoma, and the Netherlands. Leora married Lloyd Williams in Indiana on August 9, 1983, and lived in Illinois and California before settling in Colorado for the last 20 years. Leora's interests included traveling, quilting, sewing, reading, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Leora will always be remembered for her strength, independent mind, and creative, artistic abilities. She was a supportive wife, friend, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all family and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 12 at 9:30 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St, Worcester, MA. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A reception will follow at 11:30 am at The Webster House, located at One Webster Street at Webster Square, Worcester, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be donated online in Leora's name to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org). For those who wish to send flowers, please send them to Nordgren Memorial Chapel.
