Obituary

Leo A. Lajoie, 92, of 10 Mary Scano Drive, formerly of Holden, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Christopher House. His wife of 68 years, Mildred M. (Carlson) Lajoie died in April. He leaves two sons, Peter A. Lajoie of Gurnee, IL, and Stephen Lajoie of Basking Ridge, N.J.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Henry P. and Mary (Letourneau) Lajoie, and lived 29 years in Holden. He graduated from St. John's Prep and attended WPI.

Mr. Lajoie was manager of the former Capital Theater and Lincoln Plaza Theater. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and former president of its Inter-service Clubs Council, past president of the Kiwanis Club of Worcester, Harmony Club, Lincoln Neighborhood Center, and a 10-year member of the Budget Committee of the Community Chest in Worcester.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 6, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours were held Friday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home.
