Worcester: Kelly J. (McGovern) Smith, 57, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2026. Born in Worcester, she was the beloved daughter of her pre-deceased parents, James and Jean (Miller) McGovern. A proud graduate of Doherty Memorial high school and Quinsigamond community college, where she continued a career as an executive secretary, Kelly was a kind and heart-loving woman who devoted herself to her family. She adored making treasured memories with her son, Patrick, and found joy in simple pleasures - especially walks on the beach, dancing and family gatherings.

 Kelly is survived by her son Patrick Smith of Worcester, and his father Stuart Smith, her sisters, Kim Raia of South Carolina and Cheryl McGovern of Utah, Aunt Bev Morrisey of West Boylston, her nieces and nephews, Chelsea and Ryan Augusto, Rena Johnson, Matt Bergeron, Stephanie Fernandes and several other loving cousins and friends who will miss her deeply. She was pre-deceased by her beloved sister, Wendy Bergeron formerly of Barre, MA and her fiancé William Belanger formerly of Ware. Kelly will forever be remembered for her one-of-a-kind personality, always bringing a smile to everyone’s face, no matter the circumstances.”

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
