Obituary

Kathleen M. (Moriarty) O'Brien, 96, formerly of 49 Pleasant Valley Drive, died Monday, January 5, 2004, at the Radius Health Care Center. Her husband, William A. O'Brien, died in 1968.

She leaves her long-time friend and caretaker, Sharon Leahy, of Worcester. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of John T. and Catherine F. (Splain) Moriarty. She graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1928. She was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton for 32 years, retiring in 1975. She was a lifetime member of the Worcester City Hospital Alumnae Association.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, at 10:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.
