Obituary

Worcester: Katherine "Kitty" (Schneider) Metzler, 90, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. Her husband Robert A. Metzler predeceased her in 1977. She leaves two nephews- Peter Garabedian and his wife Patricia, and Robert Garabedian; sister Ella Bulka; step-son James Metzler and his wife Diane; grandson Jeffrey Metzler; niece Karen Garabedian; grand nephews Michael and Patrick Garabedian; great-grand nephew Cole Garabedian; and great-grand niece Chase Garabedian. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Garabedian.

Katherine was born in Worcester, daughter of Emil and Margaret (Klein) Schneider. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1943 and then worked as a secretary at Reed & Prince for 47 years. Katherine was a charter founding member of the Germania Social Club of Worcester. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Acton.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 10-11 am in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 472 Mass Avenue, Acton, MA 01720.
