Obituary

Worcester:  Karen E. Ulfves-Boyns, 63, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus.  Her husband of 16 years, Robert C. Boyns pre-deceased her in 2016.  She leaves 2 brothers David J. Kulik, Springfield, MA and Kenneth C. Kulik, Greenfield, MA ; 2 sisters- Joanne Garabedian and her husband Gary; and Lori A. Ulfves Worcester, MA; several nephews, aunts, an uncle and cousins.

Karen was born in Holden, daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Nordquist) Ulfves.  She earned her certificate from Central New England College and worked as a Secretary in the Worcester School Department for many years.  She enjoyed reading, going to the beach and caring for her pet birds. She loved her Swedish heritage.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6-7 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605.  A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.  Private burial will be in the Spring.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's memory may be made to Lutheran Rehab & Skilled Care, 26 Harvard Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
