Obituary

Worcester: Joseph J. Zawielski, Jr. , 67, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family after an illness. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Debra L. (Hall) Zawielski; a daughter- Lori Zawielski of Worcester; 4 grandchildren- Brett, Evan, and Kyle Zawielski and Ava Bogosian; a brother Roy Zawielski and his wife Gale Nyberg of WA; a sister- Diane DesRosiers and her husband Harry of Attleboro; and cousins and friends.

Joe was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph and Edith (Butkiewicz) Zawielski. He graduated from Worcester Vocational High School and worked as an electrician for the Local 96 IBEW. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Worcester and the Masonic Lodge in West Boylston. He was also a member of the The Retired Men's Club of Greendale. He was one of four general instructors of Shintaido in the USA. He enjoyed hiking, being in the ocean, and spending time with his grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church, 90 Holden St, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
