Obituary

Worcester: Johnnie Lee Dear, 61, was born on February 26th, 1957 in Greenville, MS to the late Annie Mae Tyler and Percy Lee Dear. He went to sleep in death on May 30th, 2018 at the University Of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA. He was preceded in death by his oldest sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Ernestine Nichols, and by his baby sister, Mildred Michell Gaines.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Johnnie Lee Robertson of Chicago, IL and his daughter Krystal Shanae Robertson of St. Louis, MO; a devoted sister, Jerry Ann Gaines of Worcester, MA; Tommie Lee White of Little Falls, NY; James Dear of Worcester, MA; Percy Dear of Baton Rouge, LA; his nephews LaTroy Gaines and Jahkeel Gaines of Southbridge, MA; his nieces Shanieka Gaines and Tyrenna Gaines of Worcester, MA; DeShunda Gaines of Boston, MA, and his great niece (whom he adored) Saniyah Gaines of Worcester, MA; his favorite auntie Florida Smith, better known as Auntie Baby Ruth; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Johnnie retired from working at an early age due to a back injury. He enjoyed fishing and he always won when playing pool. Johnnie was known by his family as "Johnnie- Boy" but he referred to himself as "Big Daddy". He loved spending time with his friends and family and he will surely be missed.
A memorial service for Johnnie will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel at 300 Lincoln St, Worcester. To leave a condolence message, please click link.
