Obituary

Worcester, MA - Jill A. (Friberg) Ryan, 62, passed away April 15, 2015. She leaves her daughter, Jennifer M. Ryan; sister, Sandra Jones; cousins, Kari Higgins, Marion & Mack Gagnon; and Paula & Keith Davies and family; nieces, Crystal Friberg and Kira Higgins-Simons; and extended family forever - Heidi Miller.

Jill was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Lillian Mae (Fenner) and Eino Friberg. She was a graduate of South High. Jill volunteered at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, Road to Recovery, and Greendale People's Church. She served on several elected positions for Head Start - Vice Chair/Policy Council, MA State Head Start Association/Treasurer, New England Regional Head Start Association/Co-Chair, and as a representative in Washington DC before a Senate Sub-Committee for the Re-funding Bill. Jill worked for Worcester Child Development Head Start from 1988-1998 as a Nutrition Assistant, Bus Monitor, Classroom Assistant, and Parent Advocate; and from 1999-2003 for Girls Inc. Lincoln House as Program Coordinator for the After-School Program.

A Memorial Service will be held at Greendale People's Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester MA on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 12:00 noon. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
