In loving memory of Janis E. Despin

March 4, 1947 - June 12, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janis E. Despin, who passed away suddenly on June 12th 2026, at the age of 79.

Janis was born and raised in Worcester. Known for her kindness, patience and generosity Janis will be remembered for her unwavering and devoted support and compassion. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt who dedicated her life to family. Janis was a graduate of North High class of 1965. Janis then worked in the retail industry for many years, retiring several years ago.

Janis is survived by her son Jason Despin, Sister Diane Morin and her husband William Morin, nephew Thomas Morin, nieces Stephanie Morin, Christine Morin, Michelle Jones and Jennifer Long, along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents Paul and Geraldine Barrette.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24th 2026 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA, 01605, followed by a service at 6:00 PM. Entombment will be held privately at the St. John’s Cemetery & Mausoleum in Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Autism Alliance, 1881 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA, 01701.
