Obituary

Jane A. (DeMallie) Army, 86, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at UMass Memorial Hospital. Her husband Lawrence C. Army died in 1999. She leaves two sons, J.R. Schmidt of Southbridge and Bruce D. Holcomb of Glencoe, IL; 5 grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by a sister Priscilla Matthews. Jane was born in Worcester daughter of John M. and Alta (Leary) DeMallie. She was a graduate of North High and Salter Secretarial School. She was an active hospital volunteer and volunteered for the Cradle Adoption Center in Chicago. She was a former member of Westmoreland Country Club, Wilmett, IL. She loved to travel and spend summers on Cape Cod and in York Harbor, Maine. After cremation private graveside services will be held in Rural Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Patient Activity Fund, University Commons, 378 Plantation St. Worcester 01605. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St is directing arrangements.
