Holden: James M. Cronin, 83, passed away on April 3, 2026 in Rose Monahan Hospice following an illness. He leaves behind stepsons Douglas P. Armey and his wife Maureen and Richard W. Armey and his significant other Eileen; his twin brother Gerald F. Cronin and several step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Linda I (Dimmick Armey) Cronin.

Jim was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis and Olive (Nordwell) Cronin. He graduated from North High School class of 1960 and Worcester Jr. College in 1963. He proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard as a sonar/oceanographic technician. He got his start as an electrician as an apprentice in Local 96 IBEW and worked as a licensed journeyman electrician at several local companies, retiring from the former Norton Company. He was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed working with all his co-workers and the guys in the apprentice class, and enjoyed working in his yard. He moved to Holden in 1999 after living in Shrewsbury for 24 years and 5 years in Auburn.

A joint graveside burial service for Jim, and his wife Linda will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton, MA at 11:00 am on April 25, 2026. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements. Donations in Jim’s and Linda's memory may be made to Project Healing Waters, Leominster, MA Chapter.
