Obituary

Worcester: Ingrid Viola Lawrence, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. She leaves several close friends including Dorothy Voellings. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law E. Lillian and Frederick A. Hohler.

Ingrid was born November 16, 1934 in Gothenberg, Sweden. Her parents, John and Hildur (Soderberg) Lawrence and sister Lillian had been living in Worcester but moved back to Sweden due to lack of employment in Worcester. The family later returned to Worcester and John obtained work at Norton Company. Ingrid was educated in Worcester schools, graduated from The High School of Commerce with honors, and graduated from the evening division of Clark University with honors. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Astra Zeneca Company for many years. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and very active in its ministry over the years.

Ingrid was loved and cared for by many wonderful staff at Notre Dame Health Care and Family Tree Home Care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In Zion Lutheran Church 41 Whitmarsh Ave, Worcester, MA 01606. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ingrid's memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
