Obituary

Ingeborg M. (Backholm) Chaplis, 86, of 20 Mill Road, died Monday, December 1, 2003, at the Lutheran Home of Worcester. Her husband of 31 years, Albert A. Chaplis, died in 1968.

She leaves 3 sons, Richard A. Chaplis of Boylston; Robert O. Chaplis, of Boylston; and Russell A. Chaplis of Rutland; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 brothers; Eskil, Edwin, and Lennert Backholm; and a sister, Edith Quist.

She was born in Boylston, daughter of Oscar and Adella (Geda) Backholm. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Worcester, the Boylston Grange, and the Boylston Senior Citizens. She was an avid artist who enjoyed painting in both oil and water colors.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. Please omit flowers.
