Obituary

North Oxford: Howard W. Evers, 81, passed away December 4, 2023 at UMass University Campus. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Pamela C. (Steelman) Evers; a son, The Rev. Eric W. Evers and his wife, The Rev. Paige G. Evers of DE; and 2 beloved grandchildren, Sigrid F. and Soren W. Evers. He was predeceased by a brother Robert Evers.

Howard was born in Worcester, son of the late Raymond and Lillian (Collamore) Evers. He graduated from North High School and earned his bachelors degree from Worcester State College. He proudly served his country in the US Marines in Vietnam and served as security in the US Embassy in Saigon. He owned and operated Evers Associates, selling automotive parts all over New England. He was a member of the Auburn Sportsman's Club, was an accomplished competitive marksman, and an avid hunter and fisher. He also enjoyed scuba diving. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and proud "Grandpa Howie."

A calling hour will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Howie's memory may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church 613 Lakeview Ave. Milford, DE 19963.
