Hilda
Cornejo
September 2, 1944 – April 24, 2026
Hilda Cornejo, born on September 2, 1944, in El Salvador, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. In the 1980s, she made her home in Boston, Massachusetts, where she built a life centered on family, hard work, and joy.
Hilda was a woman of many talents and passions. She was both a licensed beautician and a dedicated kindergarten teacher in the Boston Public School system, where she touched the lives of countless children with care and patience. She carried that same devotion into her home, always putting her family first.
Known for her fiery spirit, Hilda spoke her mind freely and lived life with honesty and strength. She had a deep love for music—especially Latino music—and could often be found driving with her favorite CD mixes playing. She also enjoyed classic artists such as The Beatles and The Carpenters.
Hilda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved shopping and could happily spend hours browsing Marshall’s and T.J. Maxx for perfumes, shoes, and clothing. She also loved going out to eat at a variety of restaurants, enjoying good food and time spent with loved ones. These moments reflected her vibrant personality and her appreciation for beauty, style, and life.
Above all, Hilda was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children: her oldest son, Carlos Cornejo, and her daughters, Hilda Rodriguez, Tracey Quintanilla, and Erika Quintanilla. She is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren: Anthony Rodriguez and Joshua Rodriguez of California, and her four granddaughters, Enniah Santiago, Arriah Caton, Samaria Cornejo, and Samira Cornejo. She shared a special bond with all of her grandchildren. Later in life, she was blessed with two younger granddaughters whom she did not get to spend as much time with as she wished, but she loved them deeply all the same. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family, always ensuring they felt cared for and never went without.
Hilda’s presence was strong, loving, and unforgettable. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit, strength, and love will live on in her family forever.
Nordgren Memorial Chapel is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
