Obituary

Helga L. (Carlson) Nelson, 94, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at her daughter's home in Princeton. Her husband of 65 years, John Oke Nelson, died in 2000. She leaves a son, Gary J. Nelson of Princeton; two daughters, Barbara L. Gates of Princeton and Sandra E. Carney of North Port, FL; a sister, Jennie J. Larson of Charlton; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret H. Westberg and a brother, Rudy Carlson. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Eric and Edla (Anderson) Carlson and had lived in Holden since 1941. She was a beautician for many years. Helga was an avid candlepin bowler and a former Worcester County champion.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A calling hour will be held at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UMass Memorial Hospice, P.O.
