Obituary

Worcester—Helen M. (Niemi) Walsh, 73, wife of the late Charles W. Walsh, passed away at home after a long illness. She is survived by three children, Charles W. Walsh of Leicester, Donna K. Walsh of Worcester, and Steven W. Walsh of Falmouth; a brother, Weikko Niemi of Worcester; four granddaughters, Dee, Katie, Brooke, and Liisa; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Rose. Helen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Ernst and Taimi (Ammala) Niemi. She was predeceased by a brother, Waino Niemi.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. Calling hours will be held from 9-11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Contributions can be made to the Finnish Heritage Society Sovittaja Scholarship Fund, c/o E.
