Obituary

Helen P. (McGowan) Nugent, 90, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. She leaves her husband of 66 years, William M. Nugent; children, Margaret, Martin, Mark, Michael, Mary Ellen, and Matthew; in-laws, Michael Sheehan, Nancy Nugent, Andrea Nugent, and Brian Meehan; 11 loving grandchildren, Daniel, Mark, Caitlin, Erin, Jessica, Michael Jr., Matthew, Carly, and Patrick Nugent and Monica and William Sheehan; sisters, Mary deBouthillier and Kathleen and her husband, Sean McNamara; sister-in-law, Barbara Nugent; brothers-in-law, Robert and Richard Nugent; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Helen was born in New York City, daughter of Margaret (Corrigan) and Martin McGowen. She was a housewife, mother, and Patient-Service Coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. for 12 years. During her retirement, she continued with Muscular Dystrophy Assn. as a volunteer. Helen was an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.

Calling hours at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street will be held on Friday, May 25 from 5-8 pm. The funeral mass will be at Our Lady of the Rosary at 10 am on Saturday, May 26. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
