Obituary

Worcester—Helen M. (Lehtinen) Whitney, 88, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, in the Beaumont Nursing Center of Northbridge. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Helen M. (Haapoja) and Thomas K. Lehtinen. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Curtis and her husband John of Holden; son Clifton Whitney and his wife Judy of Auburn, ME; sisters, Syria Beaudry and Linda Buckley; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews. A daughter, Donna Hamilton, and 4 brothers predeceased her.

Funeral services under the direction of Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester will be private. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patient Activities Fund at the Beaumont Nursing Center, 85 Beaumont Dr., Northbridge MA 01534.
