Obituary

Holden: Harriet S. (Horstman) Stark, 90, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 68 years John C. Stark, Jr.; two daughters- Joyce L. Stark and Lisa G. Hebert and her husband Scott F. Hebert; two grandchildren- Alexandra and Thomas Hebert; a sister- June Sloan; several nieces and nephews, and her dog Benji. She was predeceased by a son John C. Stark III and by sisters Elvira Robinson, Eleanor Stearns, and Hannah Edwards.

Harriet was born in Holden, daughter of the late Charles and Jane (Stearns) Horstman. "Dutchy" , as she was affectionately known, attended school in Holden and worked on her family farm for her entire life. She raised Morgan horses, cows, and dogs. She also worked for several local dry cleaning companies over the years. She was a member of the Holden Grange, the North Worcester Fox and Coon Club, and the Holden and Boylston chapters of 4-H. She enjoyed canning, gardening, cooking.


Per Harriet's wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be private. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
