Obituary

Rutland: Gordon C. Johnson, 86, passed away on Monday November 7, 2011 in UMASS Memorial Healthcare. He leaves his fiance' Nancy Doster; 2 sons Brian E. Johnson and John C. Johnson; a daughter Caroline Johnson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A sister, Gertrude Scally predeceased him.

Gordon was born in Worcester, son of Carl J. and Emma T. Johnson. He graduated from High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Noah. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and DAV. He enjoyed listening to country music, banjos and guitars, and was a fun-loving person who will be greatly missed.

Following cremation, a graveside service and burial will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the MA Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
