Obituary

Worcester/Shrewsbury- Florence E. (Gillis) Field, 91, passed away Monday, October 12, 2009 at Dodge Park Rest Home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by 3 sons, Bradley E. and his wife Nancy Field of Worcester, Dr. Bruce M. Field and his wife Carolyn of Northboro, and Robert W. Field and his wife Rhonda of Northboro; 1 daughter, Christine L. and her husband Robert Cuccaro of Shrewsbury; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Florence was predeceased by her husband Wendell D. Field, 2 brothers Douglas and Harold Gillis, and by a twin sister, Dorothy Robbins of Westwood, MA.

Florence was born in Somerville, daughter of Christine (Neil) and Malcom Gillis. She graduated from Medford High School and worked as a secretary for the Calvin Coolidge School in Shrewsbury for many years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a former member of the Shrewsbury Women's Club.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 12:00- 1:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
