Obituary

Evangeline (Liangos) Dimitropoulos, 95, formerly of 115 Elm Street, died Thursday, August 14, in Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover.

Her husband, George Dimitropoulos, died in 1961. She leaves 2 brothers, Paul Liangos of Yarmouth and Peter Liangos of Worcester, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A son, Pericles Dimitropoulos and a daughter, Clara Coris predeceased her.

Mrs. Dimitropoulos was born in Volos, Greece, daughter of John and Calliope (Stavros-Kollios) Liangos and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to North Andover 3 years ago. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, its Senior Citizens, and its Women's Philoptochos Society.

The funeral will be held on Monday, August 18, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a service at 11 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, in the funeral home. A Trisagion Service will be held during the calling hours.
