Obituary

Ellen C. (Fyrberg) Lawrence, 84, formerly of Malden and Brooks St., died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home. Her husband of 53 years, Harold E. Lawrence, died in 1993.

She leaves 4 daughters, Judy A., wife of William Chipman of Florida; June A., wife of Rev. John Leahy of Gardner; Joan M., wife of Albert W. Crocker, Jr., of Worcester; Jean M., wife of John Dellasanta of Worcester; a son, John W. Lawrence of Rutland; a sister, Greta McNary of Marlboro; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Alfred and Hilda (Hanson) Fyrberg. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1937. She was a waitress at the Sterling Inn and the Worcester Country Club.

The Rite of Christian Burial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's On-The-Heights, 340 Burncoat St. A calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. before the service. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery at a later date. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.
