Obituary

Elizabeth D. (Schwartz) Maddalena, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Saint Vincent Hospital. Her husband of many years, John A. Maddalena, died in 1989. She leaves 2 sons, John A. and Gary J. Maddalena of Worcester. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph J. and Anna E. (Sendek) Schwartz. She was a graduate of North High School. She worked at the family-owned Maddalena's Market for 38 years and then at Worcester County National Bank until her retirement.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima, 43 Belmont Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
