Obituary

Worcester—Elizabeth (Grokaitis) Russell, 75, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, in her home. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Barbara Russell of E. Concord, VT; a sister, Patricia Bachand of Hyannis; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 niece, Pamela Fitzgerald; and 4 nephews, James Collins, Stanley Collins, Lionel Bachand, and Lawrence Bachand. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Collins. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Stanley A. and Helen D. (Sisco) Grokaitis. A graduate of Commerce High School, she received her B.S. from University of Massachusetts and her teaching degree from Boston University. She was a teacher in the Worcester public school system, a member of St. Bernard Parish, and the Mass. Retired Teachers Assoc. She was a voracious reader.

A graveside funeral service under the direction of Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., will be held Monday, Oct. 31, at 11:00 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Street, Leicester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden St 01606.
