Obituary

Worcester—Elenore A. Fransson, 86, a resident of Tatnuck Park, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in UMass Memorial Hospital. She is survived by a niece, Sherry Salzman; nephews, Mark, Bradly, and Todd Stumpf; grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves many friends at Tatnuck Park. A sister, Margot Jeanie Stumpf predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Margot (Ahlquist) and Axel H. Fransson. Elenore was a graduate of Commerce High, Class of 1940 and Becker Junior College, Class of 1950. Elenore was a WWII veteran in the Women's Army Corps and was stationed in England, France, and Belgium. She was a secretary at Norton Company for more than 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, New England Army Retiree Council, and Bay State Chapter 14 Women's Army Corps Veterans Association.

The graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 11:00 a.m. at All Faiths Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 41 Whitmarsh Ave., Worcester MA 01606. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, is directing arrangements.
